Following the Stream Out

New behind the scenes video. Beautiful, rugged places give me that sense of “home.” Being surrounded by these images reminds me what it was like hiking through such places. How about you?

“Following the Stream Out” – 四姑娘山(雙橋溝) SiGuNiangShan, China
– Acrylic on linen/canvas, 24×28″/72.5×60.5cm
This national park in China has three main valleys. A shuttle bus took us to the end of the road. We marveled at the surrounding snowcaps and the golden larches surging up their lower flanks. Ping took the reference photo for this painting as we hiked part of the way back, following the stream, the sun slipping slowly down behind the western mountains.
